Bolivia, in the heart of South America, is currently a territory with a small but exclusive production of high-quality coffee. Despite having exceptional geographical and environmental conditions for coffee production, Bolivia has been going through a crisis for several years now due to the aging of it’s agricultural park and the appearance of various pests and diseases. This has led to Bolivia, as a country, to have extremely low levels of productivity which puts the sustainability of this crop at risk.
Facing this distressing and uncertain scenario, Pedro Rodriguez, together with his two children Daniela and Pedro Pablo, decided in 2013 to establish 12 small coffee farms as an agricultural model to promote Bolivian coffee growing. Currently, FINCAS LOS RODRÍGUEZ are recognized for their high competitiveness and quality in the international coffee market.
FINCAS LOS RODRÍGUEZ are located in 2 mountainous areas with microclimates and very particular types of soil, distant more than 1,000 km from each other; at different latitudes and with completely different types of climate.
CARANAVI, geographically located in the department of La Paz, at latitude S 15º of the tropical Amazon region, recognized as the capital and the land of coffee.
SAMAIPATA, located in the department of Santa Cruz, latitude S 18º at the base of the Andes, was baptized as the land of the «miracle»; to produce coffee.
In recent years, the challenge has been to create and develop multiple fermentation and drying processes, thus seeking to highlight the genuine and pure genetic and organoleptic potential of each of the varieties. Having reached optimal levels of productivity and sustainability in our coffee plantations, producing very «high-end»; specialty coffees and having achieved a solid and mature model, FINCAS LOS RODRÍGUEZ feels fully capable and excited by the opportunity to become more and more linked , with that market that tirelessly seeks and recognizes those very high quality coffees.
